Village Square & Par Mar

Woodford Oil Company began a construction/remodeling project in the last quarter of 2008 at the Chevron station located at Village Square in Elkins, WV with the intention of leasing the property to Par Mar Stores upon completion. The transition into this upgraded facility was a busy process with the designing of wall graphics, picking floor and wall tile, and deciding what material to use for the countertops. Woodford Oil's Todd Woodford along with Par Mar's Sandra Morgenstern were pleased to be able to use several local vendors: floor tiles came from Sonny’s Carpet, Sinsel’s of Philippi installed the granite countertops, and Davis Electric took care of all the electrical work.

After months of hard work and a vision of changing an old structure into something modern, Woodford was excited to join Par Mar on February 20th for a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of PM #34 and Quiznos. Some of the upgrades to the convenience store include fountain drinks with flavor shots, a walk in beer cave, iced lattes, and four types of fresh coffee.

Woodford Development Announces New Leases

Woodford Development has been working towards having all available spaces leased and is happy to announce two spaces have been filled and another space is going to be under new management.

In July of 2008, Huntington Chevron on Hal Greer Boulevard in Huntington, WV was remodeled with new Chevron imaging and a new LED canopy. The tenant Saad Ouwaida is a relative of Ashraf Assi who currently manages two stations in Hurricane, WV and one station in Charleston, WV serviced by Woodford Oil Company. Saad also did quite a bit of remodeling to the inside of the store. The remodeling changed the appearance of the location dramatically, and Woodford looks forward to aiding in the success of the new Huntington Mart.

In August of 2008, a commercial building in Moorefield, WV was leased to Judy’s Drug Store. The remodel is currently in progress and we are anxiously awaiting the grand opening set for October 1, 2008.

The Chevron station/restaurant area located at Village Square in Elkins, WV is currently undergoing construction/remodeling which will be leased to Par Mar upon completion. Woodford Oil Company Announcements

Woodford Oil Company would like to congratulate Robert and Debbie Ervine on leasing the Marathon in Bartow, WV. Robert and Debbie have been valued customers for many years and are the current owners of Trents General Store in Arbovale, WV.

Woodford Oil Company is happy to announce a growing business relationship with Marathon which has led to the branding of 14 new locations. These stations are located in Zanesville, McArthur, Vinton, Gallipolis, and Radcliff, OH; Durbin, Norton, Mill Creek, Marlinton, Arbovale, Wymer, and Hernshaw, WV; and Mooresville, NC.

Woodford Oil Company is pleased to announce the hiring of Cindy Smallwood who came on board in May of 2008. Cindy will be working with business sales development. Prior to coming to work at Woodford Oil, Cindy worked for Pantry Store/Prima for 28 years where she started as a cashier and worked her way up the company ladder through accounting, office manager, dealer manager, fuel marketing manager, and fleet manager; during this process she worked with all aspects of the gasoline department for the entire company which included dispatching, negotiating gasoline contracts, and setting retail prices for 100 sites. She also handled the real estate department in looking for sites for Prima to purchase along with sites that Prima wanted to sell. Cindy’s years of experience and vast knowledge of the business have been and will continue to be very helpful to not only our customers but to her co-workers as well. Cindy resides in Lost Creek, WV with her fiancĂ© Bobby. Cindy has one son Carl and three grandchildren Kyler, Tyus, and Ciara who she claims are her pride and joy. In her spare time she enjoys swimming, four-wheeling, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.
Woodford Oil Company is pleased to announce the hiring of Barry Oliver who came on board in June of 2008. Barry serves as the dispatcher and plant manager at the Ashland, KY office. Prior to coming to work at Woodford Oil, Barry spent eight years in the lubricants business as a field representative for Apollo Oil. Barry’s years of experience has enabled him to make an immediate impact on the level of customer service and operations at the Ashland plant. Barry resides in Ashland with his wife Debbie and two children Julian and Brian. In his spare time he enjoys salvaging and restoring classic automobiles.

In the summer of 2008, Woodford Oil Company added wireless lubricant tank monitoring to its list of services. This service provides us with the ability to be as efficient as possible and ensure our customers do not run out of product which greatly decreases costly downtime; it schedules deliveries only when necessary which helps the customers cash flow since they are not paying for product before it is needed; and it can report levels over the internet, pager, or pda which allows the customer to be connected no matter where they may be. Thus far, we have witnessed customers enjoying the piece of mind in knowing that their supplier is paying close attention to their fluid levels. We look forward to the opportunity to provide this service to many more customers.

At the Omega Show in June of 2008, Woodford Oil Company purchased a new 2008 International Durastar 2800 gallon four compartment tank wagon with digital meter and printer in the cab.

Woodford Oil Company will complete its acquisition of Beckley Oil’s petroleum operation in Marlinton, WV on October 1, 2008. We are extremely excited about this new opportunity and are looking forward to a great partnership with their existing customers in this market. We would like to thank our new customers and express our gratitude to the staff of Beckley Oil for making this transition as seamless as possible. We would also like to extend a promise to continue to be committed to providing the best customer service to each and every one of our customers.
